Migrating macquarieim.com's Sitecore Platform to AWS

June 2022

Problem

macquarieim.com ran on an on-premise Sitecore CMS deployment that required ongoing data-center investment, manual patching and scaling, and slowed the pace at which the business could ship content and infrastructure changes.

Solution

I governed the end-to-end migration of the on-premise Sitecore content management and delivery infrastructure to an AWS cloud-hosted solution — covering environment design, infrastructure-as-code with CloudFormation, IAM and KMS-based access and secrets controls, and a cutover plan that minimized downtime for a production marketing site.

Impact

The result was a scalable, cloud-hosted CMS platform that eliminated dependence on physical data-center infrastructure, improved deployment speed, and gave the team modern tooling for monitoring, scaling, and securing the environment going forward.
